Plight of the Lions

Plight of the Lions is a saga about the tumultuous Mediterranean world of biblical times, where murder, betrayal and love fill the lives of its people.   The story begins when nine-year-old Akiva has a chance encounter with Yeshua the Nazorean on the night of his arrest. It changes Akiva’s life forever. Akiva sets out to investigate the mysterious life of Yeshua but one day vanishes.  Almost thirty years later the forced abduction of Servia, a Roman wife, sets into motion a series of events that will take her son, Tessius Trulius, to a remote fortress deep in the mountains of Armenia. In Armenia Trulius meets and befriends Farrenthias Theophilus, a scholarly Greek boy who has chosen to live at the fortress and study under the brilliant men who reside there.  Farrenthias is one day told the story of the plight of Akiva and, fascinated, he sets out on his own quest to find him and to learn what Akiva might have uncovered about the life of Yeshua.  Throughout the saga, Trulius and Farrenthias cross paths with many eccentric and colorful characters whose daily lives are occupied with a struggle to survive in a sometimes brutal and unforgiving world.
